Air China will increase its current frequency on the Beijing-San Francisco route to daily service, starting April 1, 2007. Air China, China’s only flag carrier, announced that demand for this new service has prompted the increase in capacity. With this frequency increase, Air China will be the only Chinese carrier offering daily nonstop service to the United States at its two top gateway markets of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Air China also serves New York and Vancouver with nonstop service to Beijing. "San Francisco, as our third daily route to the U.S., will bring added convenience and service to both business and tourism passengers traveling to China," said Mrs. Zhang Lan, Senior Vice President of Air China. "As well, adding to our focus on the West Coast, the daily services at both San Francisco and L.A. will permit greater access from the Midwest of America. These connecting passengers are a group we are eager to conveniently accommodate aboard Air China," she added. Differing from most U.S. carriers, Air China follows international service standards and offers three full classes of onboard services from all its U.S. gateways. It’s First Class, named “Forbidden Pavilion,” offers fully flat sleeper seats and an elite traveling experience for those who seek first class standard as they cross the Pacific. Its namesake, Beijing’s Forbidden City, was the home to Chinese emperors throughout history. Air China’s Forbidden Pavilion carries specific features to reflect the royalty, honor, and privacy associated with the Forbidden City. Air China’s Business Class, called "Capital Pavilion," also offers premium flat seats in the aircraft cabin. With the convenience of its nonstop service from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, Air China offers VIP service for the global business traveler. The two new flights from San Francisco will be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays. Flight CA 985 will depart Beijing at 3:30pm, arriving in San Francisco at 12:10pm each day. Flight CA986 will depart San Francisco at 2:20pm, arriving the next afternoon in Beijing at 5:05pm. As China’s sole designated flag carrier and the airline partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Air China serves 78 domestic and 39 international cities with an extensive network from its Beijing hub. Air China conveniently links passengers between China and destinations around the world. Air China continues to attract international recognition and a growing reputation for quality service. In America, Air China serves New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Vancouver with non-stop service to Beijing. |
